A full-time position involving (50%) assisting a full-time Animal Research Technician with management of mouse colonies
(e.g., Breeding and computer documentation of different mouse strains, taking biopsies for genotyping, helping researchers
by monitoring experiments), and (50%) managing the histology/microscopy laboratory is available at CeMM, the Research
Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
Requirements:
Certified Training as Lab Animal Technician (Abgeschlossene Tierpflegerausbildung) plus practical experience working with
mice and record keeping are required. Experience with animal experimental procedures (e.g. i.v./i.p. injections) and with
histology/microscopy are an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
We are looking for someone who is well-organized, able to keep clear records, communicates well and is able to work
independently but as part of a research team. CeMM is a research institute with a great team spirit and we also offer a
competitive salary. CeMM has a new tailor-made building at the center of the Vienna Medical University/General Hospital
Campus and close to the heart of the city.
